It should be noted that Chip Bulgin has taken on the responsibility of finding judges for both of our monthly contest. However, things do happen and judges, for various reasons, sometimes can’t show up. The can’t show-up situation usually occurs on the day of the judging, making Bulgin’s job of finding a replacement almost impossible. Chip received an "I-can’t-make-it call" on the day of the contest and was unable to find a replacement. The three judges were Dick Chomitzk, Donna Neal and Chip Bulgin.

Please accept my apologies for being tardy this month. The death of an old friend followed by his funeral kept me away from Annapolis for several days - Scott Dine

Through a Lens Closely

Elizabeth Gauld walked in with a three gorgeous onions followed by her husband, Guff, pulling a handcart of photographic gear. The ever resourceful Guff mounted his view camera on a tripod that formerly held a surveyor’s transit. Dick Chomitz and Howard Penn both packed packages of pixels as did many others. Tim Champney was working a floral arrangement, Donna Neal strung ribbons. Angel Kidwell sampled Chip Bulgin’s dome lighting and the result was a winner in the February 22nd contest. Pat McCann worked with a nifty Canon macro zoom lens and the digital guys, according to Howard Penn, got instant gratification. And so went the annual close-up night.
