Maryland Renaissance Festival Venue: Crownsville Fairgrounds Dates: Through Oct. 21 Set in Revel Grove, a 25-acre English Tudor Village, this renaissance festival, in its 31st season, features more than 130 craft shops displaying many wares handmade by artisans, 42 outlets providing modern and 16th-century food and numerous taverns. There are also 10 stages of entertainment including sword swallowers, jousting, music, jugglers and magicians. Kids can take free pony rides and navigate through a winding maze. Rain or shine. Handmade lanterns, elaborate floats and marching bands fill the city streets for this annual festival. Show off your own lantern at the parade, or just sit back and enjoy the show.
